The Holy Ghost (Spirit) in Action - Scene 7 - Acts 5:1-11

In the continual moving of the Holy Ghost, the scene shifts to another part of town where the power of God was in was in divine action. This power was so dynamic and convicting that all that heard the word of God sold their possessions and brought the proceeds to the Apostles' feet. Men and women were so affected that they gave up their possessions, stop attending to their routine daily chores and work habits, considered themselves as nothing in this world as the Holy Ghost moved on their hearts. This is how efficacious the Holy Ghost is, when one allows Him to have total and absolute control in their lives.

The Bible records that in this text, a certain man by the name of Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold possessions and kept back part of the price, with his wife being aware of this and he brought a certain part of the sales proceeds and laid at the Apostles feet. The dynamic presence of the Holy Ghost in the Apostle Peter discerned that Ananias was less than honest, in order words, he deceptively conspired with his wife to put on a show of his piousness and generosity in the giving of the proceeds of his sold property.

The Scripture records that God is a discerner of hearts and minds and he knows whether one is transparent in their actions, and in this case, Peter's response to Ananias was, "Why did you allow Satan to fill your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, to keep back part of the price of the proceeds of the sale of your possessions?". This man fell down instantly and died, because of his thoughts and actions were not pure, but deceptious and the Holy Ghost in action brought swift retribution. Not soon after ( within the space of 3 hours) his wife came in and the Spirit of God in action used the Apostle Peter again to discerned and interrogate Sapphira? Peter's question was direct to the point. "Tell me whether you sold the lands for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. How is it that ye agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord?"

The Bible says that Sapphira fell down straightway at the Apostle Peter's feet, and yielded up the ghost, and the people around found her dead and took her way to be buried, similiar to her husband. The scripture noted something dramatic after this mighty moving of the Spirit of the God in Action. Great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things. The entire community of Jerusalem and the surrounding regions was pulverized as they heard the detail account of how the Spirit of God in action was in full force, destroying and attacking the works of sin and darkness.

The Holy Ghost in Action is still action like the days of Pentecost. Visit Meadowvale East Apostolic Church for a taste of this heavenly experience NOW!
